Exchanging Blue Ray Discs for Traditional DVD discs - Blu-ray Forum

Is anyone else having problems being able to exchange Blue Ray DVDs for regular DVDs? I was given a Blue Ray DVD for my birthday. I am unable to use it because I don't have the right kind of player. I went to Walmart, which is where it was purchased, and they wouldn't let me exchange it because it had already been opened. The reason I opened it was that at the time I was unfamiliar with Blue Ray and didn't realize it wouldn't work on my player. It really irritated me that they wouldn't at least let me exchange it for a regular DVD. Anybody else experienced this? Thank you.
