In my opinion, I thought it was a pretty good transfer for an old classic but I'd rather wait until all the Rocky movies come to blu-ray as a boxset. I like Rocky IV as my favorite.

This is the kinda review I was looking for. I will get them as they come out then sell them to help pay for the box set when it comes out. My favorite Rocky is proably Rocky IV as well, altough my favorite quote from a Rocky movie would have to come from Rocky V!!!

Tommy Gunn comes to the local bar to get his respect from Rocky and in the process knocks Polly down and knocks his tooth out. Rocky turns around with "the eye of the tiger" and says....

Rocky: "You knocked him down, why don't you try knockin me down now."

Promotor: "Tommy Gunn only fights in the ring."

Rocky: "My rings outside."

Tommy: "Lets do it."

That scene gets me pumped up everytime!!! LOL

Thanks for the review buddy, its greatly appreciated.

That line from Rocky V that you just posted gives me a lot of heart because I hate bullies. I was bullied when I was very young but when people look at me now they now I will hurt them because I'm a big man. I hate it when people prey on the weak and they're scared of the stronger prey. That tells me that they're (You've had it before)

I watched part of III last night on DirecTV in HD. It looked pretty good. It was late, so I didn't have the sound really going. That's OK though, I've had a fair share of "Eye of the Tiger" already.

For the most part, I like the Rocky movies. The first movie is truely an American classic. II is very good. III is good. And, IMO, it's down hill from there. IV is ok. V is plain bad.

I just watched Rocky Balboa on BD for the first time last week (thank you Netflix) I thought the movie was absolutely awful.

I would like to have the first three on BD. The second three, probably not.

We were... we were like THIS Tommy!!! Awful movie... absolutely awful.

Aside from the first, which was a good story, the rest are just pure entertainment to me.

Hehe . . . I'm not gonna lie, I love all the Rocky movies. I love that cheesy part in the street fight in Rocky V where Rocky gets knocked down and he starts having all those flashbacks, and then at the end of the flashback you see Mick and he's like, "I didn't hear no bell!! Now get up, you sonuva*****! Cuz Mickey loves ya." Cue music and awesomeness.

That and the quote in the bar are the best!

I just bought Rocky I & watched it on blu-ray & it is an awful transfer in my opinion, they should have put more into an american classic. I hope they do better for the box set!! However Rocky VI or "Rocky Balboa" had a good PQ, in my opinon!!

I think if you're in it more for the story and characters, Rocky, Rocky II, and Rocky Balboa would be a hell of a triple feature. The only hole would be the fact that Rocky is broke in Rocky Balboa, but that could be explained by any number of reasons. III, IV, and V are still very entertaining (to me), but they don't add a whole lot to the character.

They should've made the story longer for Rocky IV. They should've included his retirement due to brain damage after he defeated Ivan Drago. That should've ended the Rocky series.

All though Rocky V was probably the worst one, I like how Rocky came back and ended the legendary character he created in Rocky Balboa (ending scene).
