Default Apocalypto

the best blu ray i have ever seen. The first time iv ever seen the movie, and iv never been so impressed. Everything was perfect, the video, the sound, and the movie itself. The grand scale of the movie reminded me of the American epics of the early 20th century. The blu ray presentation took high def picture and sound and made me feel asthough i was in the theater watching a clasic film.

Pretty damn badass movie (like most Mel Gibson movies) those sacrifice scenes were crazy with the head rolling down the temple.

My buddy said that 10,000 BC was a crappy knock off of Apocalypto.

i felt like i was watching the real life version of my middle school history class. The temples reminded me of something from the 10 comandments

that is exactly what it was. more than a crappy knock off tho...its almost liek they were trying to milk apocalypto...that being said, it will still make for a great bluray

Mel Gibson did work with this movie. Very brutal and harsh reality back then. I love the dark feel throughout the journey.

This is one blu ray that is a full screen which helps the experience alot

I loved Apocalypto. So I have to agree that 10,000 BC look crappy.

Apocalypto is awesome! There shouldn't really be any comparisons with it to 10,000 BC...a better comparison would be to Pathfinder. I wouldn't have even gone to see 10,000 BC after the reviews except that I was in a group and majority rules. I recently watched The Other Conquest which is a good comparison for Apocalypto, but I preferred The latter to it.

Thumbs up

Apocalypto was one of my first couple of blu-rays and is still a favorite. Good movie and a fantastic demo disk.

I had never heard of the lead actor Rudy Youngblood (Jaguar Sky) before. He did an amazing job in Apocalypto (as did the rest of the cast). As beautiful as the cinematography is, the horrific events depicted in the story are brutal and harsh, often providing edge-of-your-seat suspense and action. James Newton Howard's score is sensational. I love this movie. Everyone should see it, if not own it, on Blu-ray.

Apocalypto is a great film and I HIGHLY recommend the Blu-ray to anyone.
The PQ is for sure one of the best so far.
I mean the very top tier of the best PQ movies out!
The vibrant colors and detail just pop off the screen.

As for 10,000 BC I was a little disappointed that it wasn't
as amazing as the previews made it out to be.
it def had the potential, but it just lacked that little bit extra that
would have brought it from a good movie to a full blown epic.

Agreed, but don't forget about the phenomenal audio on this blu-ray. Albeit 5.1 it is one of the best audio mixes ever put to blu, making you feel the essence of being in the middle of the jungle with the random birds chirping and other jungle sounds coming from various parts of your surround system.
