Does the unit have a reset button? Could be on the front behind a panel, the back, maybe the bottom. Otherwise, try the manual. Good luck.

You may have had the DVD player in interlaced and accidentally switched it to Progressive or vice versa. The owners manual might have a step by step so you can change it back while blind but if it doesn't, call either the store where you bought it or a local Phillips office and see if tech support can walk you through the steps while blind. It'll be kind of like this...

Press down twice, press right then up, enter, then up three, etc etc...

It does sound like you turned it to progressive scan, which I'm guessing your TV does not support? If so, take it to someone's house (or the store!) and plug it into a progressive scan capable TV (any HD set) -- you should get a picture, and then you can go through the menu and disable progressive scan.

Good luck!

that manual is REAL basic and says nothing about progressive scan. if you tried ALL video out connections and still get nothing you might be out of luck. no warranty? to late to return/exchange? i assume you went through the troubleshooting steps as well. sorry bro. its real hard to do something like this by texting. if you know someone that has a system maybe they can look at it.

manuals are an excellent start to solving problems. whomever has an issue i look it up. sometimes its not clear in the manual but you may get troubleshooting ideas.
