Blu-ray Disc But Not High Definition Image

hello,
i bought some bluray discs, and i was surprised when i watched the movies, cause for example 30 days of nights, it is obvious that the image is really clear but when i watched the last samurai and troy it is not that clear there is almost no difference than the dvd formats but the high contract. am i wrong? anybody got the same idea? i think they just copied the same dvd format to a bluray disc and they are selling for triple price

please share your ideas with me cause i am really confused?

I have 300 and Troy that I upgraded from DVDs to BDs and have no regrets, but I'm a PQ/AQ snob.

i have a ps3 40gb and high definition tv, should not be about my system? cause other blurays looks very nice

What kind of TV do you have and how do you have your player connected to it?

i dont think you understand me, there is no problem with the player and my tv, i have 300, it is so good and clear but troy, last samurai, i think the old movies, they did not use high definition cameras when they shoot those movies? am i wrong?

most of the movies on blu did not shoot on HD cameras.

That actually doesn't matter since most Movies were shot on Film before digital and film is higher resolution then BDs

Troy has a great picture. Alright...some spots not so much, but overall it's a great disc.

1) What kind or model and size of High def tv?
2) How is the PS3 connected? HDMI cable, Component cable (3 color cables + 2 audio), or Composite (Yellow, Red, and White cables)


Some movies, especially the newer ones will likely look better. But it can also be that you are expecting too much. Movies are still going to have a "film" look, as opposed to the clearness of a documentary like Planet Earth.

You're seeing the limitations of the HD DVD bandwidth those compressions were optimized for,combined with the stylistic choices of the filmmakers

connection is with hdmi cable, there is nothing with the connection, as i said before some of them are great, should change the connection for some movies? of course no, maybe i am expecting more for some movies but WickyWoo's reply is very interesting

If u think the PQ is poor, there are settings incorrect on your television.. as Ive said for the second time.

buddy i think i could not tell the problem, some movies is excellent but some of them are just ok, maybe i am expecting more but wickwoo's respond is interesting i think we should get more info from him/her

Not even worth it.. Its like people dont understand.. some movies look great some look so so. I guess that whole "REVIEW" section that discusses this just doesnt appear for people?
