Default No Country For Old Men audio issues

When I select the 5.1 dolby digital audio option on this blu-ray disc, my receiver (older Kenwood model with dolby digital and pro logic capabilities) won't output 5.1 surround. It keeps combining the rear two speakers into one simulated speaker. Why is that? Whenever I choose 5.1 on my other blu-ray discs it works fine. Could there be a problem with the disc itself, or do I need to update my receiver? The only other thing I can think of is that I have not yet updated my player's (BDPS301) firmware since I bought it. I haven't had the player long, so I'm not too familiar yet with how firmware works. If anyone out there could please give me some advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

You can download the driver from Sony's website, but it can be a pain in the neck to burn it to disk correctly. You can also call Sony, they'll send you the firmware upgrade CD in a few days. That's the best route if you're not comfortable with it.

Do the firmware upgrade first - with all of the software voodoo going in with Blu-Ray authoring, no telling what's happening with No Country For Old Men. Since your other movies work fine, it's not a hardware problem - probably firmware on the player, or some freak feature on the disc.

Thanks for your input. I'm in the process of getting the firmware upgrade. Hopefully that will do the trick. In case anyone else is wondering about the same problem, I'll post again to give my solution to the problem. Thanks again.

It was in fact the firmware upgrade. Everything is working fine now. Thanks again for the help.
