Default The Netflix Gods Smile Upon Me!

I sent Michael Clayton back to Netflix on Saturday after watching it on Friday. Great movie, by the way. So I just checked to see which movie from my queue they would be sending me today, and somehow, I see its I Am Legend!

I initially had this preordered, but I really am not a fan of zombie flicks, so I didn't know what to expect from this one. I'm very excited I'll have this tomorrow to watch instead of having to wait a few weeks for the backlog.

Yup same thing happened to me a little while back with Appleseed. Getting stuff on release day from Netflix is great.

Josh,

Netflix works in mysterious ways. Maybe your status here at Blu-Ray.com had something to do with it . I've been without a movie for the past 3 weeks with Netflix...no exaggeration. Last Wed, to my surprise, they finally mailed Clayton, NCFOM, & We Own the Night. NCFOM got lost in the mail but they mailed me a replacement the very next day. I have a love hate relationship with these bastards.

I think a lot has to do with how quickly you go through movies. Someone who has 2 Movies Unlimited and only goes through a couple flicks every week or so versus someone with the same plan and goes through 4 a week.

The less you rent the better chance a getting a movie with a "long wait". That's just what I've noticed.

So true! I am what would be considered a "light" user and "I am Legend" is shipping today for arrival tomorrow.

Yep, Netflix is sending my I am Legend for tomorrow as well.

I often try to make sure they receive one of my returns on Mondays. That's the best way to make sure you get the new releases before they become a long wait the next day.

Netflix is shipping "I am Legend" to me today, also.

Last week, I went into my queue and deleted a lot a "available now" titles, leaving only "very long wait" and "long wait", on the advice of other members posting on this site. Since then I have been receiving newer releases a lot sooner.

OK I am getting I am Legend for tomorrow as well.
Netflix must be seriously stepping up on their inventory.
I honestly waited 2 months for Galapagos when that first came out. Now I feel like I can get what ever I want. I got Sleuth and Dan in Real Life last Tuesday. Now, Legend and Appleseed Ex Machina in one day.

Netflix got me smiling today for sure.

Netflix loses money on me. I average 18 flicks per month on the 3-at-a-time plan. That doesnt cover their postage both ways. They hate people like me.

Fortunately I have not experienced any throttling in 2 years.

Does anyone know where the "nearest Netflix shipping facility" is? Does living closer make that much of a difference?

Hmm... this must be one of the first titles they really committed to since promising Blu-ray exclusivity.

It also probably depends on the closest USPS sorting facility to you. I mean you could be next door neighbor to Netflix but the movies will still have to go through USPS.

And by the way I am getting I Am Legend tomorrow too and I just started using Netflix last thursday. haha

I've got two movies I sent back today with I Am Legend sitting on top of my queue . . . so we'll see how that goes. With any luck, Netflix actually distributed their memo about expanding their Blu-ray selection to somebody who makes decisions, and they ordered a crap-ton of IAL, since it's the first huge release since their announcement.
