Default The new Acer Blu-Ray notebooks, question.

I am probably going to get a new notebook in the next few months to a year (My fiance's notebook is on the crap and about to go). I am going to give her my notebook and buy a new one, so I am waiting on these to see how they are.

I have read on various sites that they are going to be $900-2000 based on the options you choose.

Here are the specs of the 2:

Acer Aspire 6920g:
The Acer Aspire 6920G gets a 320GB hard drive, 1X Blu-ray Super Multi dual-layer drive, a 16-inch LCD (what an odd size), and 512MB NVidia GeForce 9500M GS graphics. Screen resolution of 1,366 x 768.

Acer Aspire 8920g:
The 8920G steps it up with dual hard drives (up to 320GB each), a 2X Blu-ray Super Multi dual-layer drive, and a monstrous 18.4-inch HD screen to go with dedicated GeForce graphics. This one tips the scales at nine pounds. With a full HD 1,920 x 1,080.

So my question is I am sure I can save a lot of money if I chose the 6920g because of the smaller screen resolution (about 720p). If the screen on the 8920g is only going to be 18", my understanding is it won't make a big difference based on the size. I've always read that if something is sub 40" then 1080p isn't necessary (debated), so I assume 18" really won't matter.

Would you experts suggest to go with the smaller screen and probably save $300-500 on the notebook? I would still add more RAM to probably at least 3gb.
