Tried playing this on my PS3

Only got some commentary stuff and no option to play the actual movie at all

Faulty disc?

Try it out on another blu-ray player. If you have the same problem, then there's something wrong with the disc. If it plays fine... well you get the picture.

Bring it with you to Best Buy or CC, they'll let you see if it is a faulty disc. Where did you buy it from? They should certainly let you test the disc there. They man not accept a return or trade-in, but you can always contact the distributor with any disc issues.

are you saying that on the main menu there is no option to play the movie? just an option to click on commentary, etc...?

Yes

It plays the movie but it has commentary over literally the whole thing so we can't hear what the actors are saying and what's going on in the scene etc

Have you tried cycling through the different language selection possiblities? It may just default to that one for some reason.

You can take it to CC or BB, just tell them you bough it there and you need to find out if its a faulty disc, I've done that a couple of times.

The disc should have other audio tracks. To cycle through them you need to push the triangle button on the ps3 controller and select the languages/audio key from the pop-up legend. If there are no other choices, then you probably have a faulty disc.

So when the movie is playing, why not hit the pop up menu to select the other audio track? Does it automatically go to the menu? None of my WB movies have main menus really. There's just the special features menu and then at the very bottom it says resume movie.
