Arrow Selling of DVD collection debate

Ok i have about 200 dvds
Normal dvds....Dvds that i dont want to see again because now i have blu ray and my eyes are spoiled to its greatness...

Theres a store around where i live that actually buys and sells...any kind of dvd...blu ray...hd dvd...video game..and console and music cd..its called disc replay
here look http://www.discreplay.com/

Well my 200 dvd collection has dwindled down to like 170...lol.
I still have like LOTR collection...Xmen collection..matrix all of those...
Alot of others but its like...Im never going to probably want to go back and watch these i have 25 blu rays right now and going to get some ps3 games.

Is there really a point in not selling the dvds...i figure i wont get what there worth..But they will probably buy me a couple blu rays or ps3 games...
maybe a full tank of gas the way the prices are around here...But something i guess thats more usefull...

I dunno...Whats everyone else been doing with there dvds???

Theres no right or wrong answer here just opinions
None of this Or

Where do you guys sell your DVD's? I've been debating this for months and I've decided I want to sell them. Did you guys do the brick and mortar selling, probably at around $2-$3 per movie I'm assuming or did you go the ebay or some sort of online selling route?

I got over 650 sd dvds, and I will probably part with a few, but a lot of them I may not be able to get on blu-ray. I got to keep certain dvds, but if I get them on Blu-ray or HD dvd I will be willing to part with those particular dvds only. Upconversion is decent, but nowhere near Blu.

phastm do you have a disc replay or store similar to that around you?
they also sell used blu rays and hd dvds and you can get cash or store credit
they accept anything you could sell a nintendo...or a sega...they give pretty decent cash...
heres the site
www.discreplay.com

But there could be a similar store with a different name in your area maybe i dunno check it out...Thats where i have been selling my normal dvds

Can you afford to replace all those DVD on blu-ray even if they were all on Blu-ray? Probably not so I would keep them. Or if you sell them back them up on your computer at least or something..

I'm keeping our collection. There's no way I could go through buying all 3000+ DVD's again

I've got about 1,100 DVDs

A) I can't afford to replace all of them

B) I expect some will NEVER be on Blu (Tea leaf Green, and Steve Kimock Concert DVDs etc)

C) I play some in my jeep

D) People still borrow them

E) I can't afford to replace all of them

F) although better I'm sure, my All-In-The-Family television series or Twilight Zone's are fine in standard def. for me

G) I can't afford to replace all of them

H) I have more televisions than Blu-Players

I) some upconverted standards are still pretty nice so the price-to-replacement value fluctuates for each title for me.... I've replaced a lot on Blu, and others I have not yet......

J) I can't afford to replace all of them

K) My wife would kill me

L) Since the Blu player plays them, they'll be around longer than VHS was after DVD became mainstream

M) I can't afford to replace all of them

N) See M, J, G, E, and A

Birdman, I have someone willing to buy most, if not all of my DVD at 5 bucks each. Though I have yet to sell them, I put the ones replaced with BD in a box.

Part of me wants to keep them for use with my portable DVD player, but I never use that thing. So I am in a bit of a bind.

I have gotten rid of about 400 with another 800 in the shelf. The onse I got rid of were the ones on BD or ones I knew I would never watch again. I will sell off more as they are anounced on BD, but some I am sure will never make it, or if they do it will be years, and years away.
