Default Is anyone buying Sweeney Todd on DVD to hold them over?

Now when this comes out next week, ill likely rent it, then ask for it for my birthday from my wife which is next saturday. Now im not like most of you who HAS to wait for a BD, but it would be alot better. Is anyone else getting the dvd or renting the dvd to pass the time before it comes to BD?

No DVDs for me since April 2007, and I will not break the trend with this title.

I'm sure Paramount is banking on impatient Blu owners to buy Sweeney on DVD. And There Will Be Blood. And Cloverfield.

The only sale they will possibly get from me is Sweeney. Never saw TWBB and hated Cloverfield

If Paramount was smart, they would announce the BD release of Sweeney next Wednesday

I'm patient enough to not buy the DVD, but if it's region free in the UK, I will buy it immediately, if not sooner.

Unless Cloverfield it $15 I wont buy it, and the only reason I bought No Country for Old men is because I bought the $1 coupon and got it for $13. I dont normally blind buy, and I dont buy movies I hate unless I get it worth while

I guess this is why we can't get Cloverfield.

My assumption is unless it's one of the first BDs that Warner decides to lock down, it will be region free in the UK. The only thing amazon.co.uk says right now is that it's PAL (which means less than nothing) and has no region info. at all -- doesn't even say Region 2 (which is what it usually says instead of Region B).

I typically wait until a movie is released over there and confirm it before I buy. My guess though, is that a fair few of the forum-goers here have long since pre-ordered it from over the pond.

When I had Beowulf sent, it was just over $36. So close to 40, but nowhere near 50 and Sweeney is the same price. So give 6 bucks for overseas shipping and the disc is only about 30 bucks.

For me, it's not a blind buy, either. I saw it in theaters when it was over here (US) and it's ruddy brilliant.

Well worth the extra 10 bucks (or whatever it breaks down to after shipping or whatever) to go ahead and get a copy and not wait for it.
