Default PC as Audio server instead of PS3
Ok after having a PS3 for 6 months im not really satisfied with the sound quality of music being streamed to it from my computer. ( I have my music stored all as wave files being streamed through a wired gigabit network. ive noticed the music loses something in the translation. it lacks bass the highs are grainy and lacking. I was hoping to get better sound.
im looking at getting a PC to use as an audio server, It would have a large hard drive, and using an M-Audio USB transport to connect an SDIF Optical cable to my Integra pre/pro. would that yield me significantly better sound quality than streaming through the PS3 or am i wasting my time?
