Any benefit of multichannel analog setup with upconverting DVD player?
I have a oppo DV-981HD player connected to my Onkyo TX-DS787 AV receiver using an optical cable. Would I get any improved 5.1 surround sound from standard DVDs using a mutlichannel analog set up? I do intend to purchase a blu-ray player in the future and would like to use my Onkyo receiver for that also. Any suggestions?
