Default Batman Begins + Vendetta = Smallville?

OK, you might find my equation a little odd, I know.

Let me explain...

Batman Begins, V for Vendetta were HD DVD exclusives (due to IME) and so was Smallville season 5. With both Batman and Vendetta having release dates on Blu-ray, does this mean all the HD DVD exclusives will be coming?

Wouldn't mind replacing my (already superb) DVD season set with the high definition counterpart!

Don't know if they will, but that would be awesome! WB has said they're gonna bring the HD exclusives over to BD, but I'm not sure if they meant ALL of them. Could be titles like Batman, Matrix and V were the ones they were referencing.

Its probably safe to say YES, eventually. There is no reason for the HD DVD exclusives NOT to make it to BD. Universal has much to release for us on BD. Paramount has a few titles already waiting in the wings from the BD defection.

With 6 already out and 7 probably not too too far behind, I would guess we'll see season 1 before season 5.

What do I know though.

Since I already own 1-5 on dvd though, the price would have to be decent for me to rebuy. Even at only $40 a pop, that's $200 that could buy many more movies that probably look better in HD anyway.

By poor quality, I'm guessing you're referring to the "bad" encoding done on the HD DVD version of s5?!

I know s6 wasn't the BEST of encodes, but still veeeeeeeery nice to wtch! Would love all the seasons in HD, but will settle for all forthcoming... check my avatar for a season 7 cover I designed myself!

I haven't seen any HD DVD movie other than TF on display in stores...

but for such a high price, the quality should be better...

From what I remember, i thought season 6 sold pretty well on Blu as well. Not spectacular, but better than I expected anyway. I dont see any reason why 7 wouldnt come as well, and then maybe the earlier seasons later.

Give it time.

Thumbs down

I'd get seasons 1-4 of Smallville, season 5 (episode 100) destroyed the show for me with the stupid time travel (Voyager like stupid) and Clark's stupid reaction (isn't Superman courageous and all powerful?). Then Chloe became the brain and Clark the muscle, making him a secondary character ... And Lana and Lex? What a joke ...

I hope so. I just hope that Warner don't squander the extra space and bandwidth (like they did for Season 6) on squeezing in extra episode(s) per disc.

Give us high bit rate encodes with lossless audio, please, Warner! (Now that you--and everyone else--has dropped HD DVD, there's no excuse not too.)
