Default Steroids and baseball poll. Please vote!

I am taking a news writing class right now and I am doing an article on steroids in baseball. Instead of talking about the mitchell report and legal issues of players and stuff I wanted to focus on the fan's point of view. So please help me out and vote on this poll. Thanks you so much!

I love the game of baseball and I DON'T CARE if players juice or use other types of performance enhancers (HGH, etc). The most exciting era of baseball occurred because players were using it.

Are you going to ban players because they get Lasik eye surgery or drink too much caffeine? Why not? They're both performance enhancers, too.

The Mitchell report proved some players had done Steroids when it wasnt illegal in baseball. To me, yeah it was a terrible choice for these players to do, but what are you going to do now? You cant suspend players for what happened when it was basically allowed. The reason I still love baseball is because, if it happens now, person is suspended. As a Yankee fan, for one I still dont believe Clemens took steroids, but if he did, so what? His numbers prove that he is a hall of famer with or without the steroids, and probably just took them to stay healthy. If I was active like they are, and got hurt and there was something that could heal me quicker, done and done.

Who cares i think steroids should be mandatory, we'd see a lot more home runs. Go Red Sox!!!!!!!

The game is be played on the field, not in the chemistry labs.

Steroids attract the fan who is only interested in the home run. *News Flash* They're playing baseball, not home run derby! Baseball involves bunts, stolen bases, hit & runs, *defense*, situational hitting, making contact, working a base on balls once in a while.

The game degrades when everyone is swinging for the fences. There was the short term growth in popularity, but it wouldn't last if steroids continued to go unchecked.

Steroids do not win World Series championships.

steroids ruins the game. it should be illegal for baseball players to use it. home runs are meant to be few and far between, if every person hit a homerun at every at bat baseball would be no better than basketball. all games would end having 90 runs

Even though every other sport has just as much steroid use(and in the case of football even more), baseball seems to be the only sport held to a higher standard when it comes to steroids. The media would have never made a big deal about it if several known steroid users had not broken several long standing home run records.

Seriously, I didn't hear anyone B*****N when McGuire and Sosa were launchin so many bombs that the defense department had to look into it. Everyone knew it and no one said S**T. So who are the real culprits? I say the Comissioners Office and the Players Union are to blame.

Oh, F the SOX GO YANKS....

HGH and Steroids does not improve you hand-eye coordination and does not improve your ability to field...

look at how big the players who use this stuff have gotten...

Barry Bonds lost speed and his ability to field, he used to be a gold golve and would be a 30-30 guy and he gave that up for pure power...

that's his decision, I guess...I think juicing up has impaired his ability to play and he was more useful to his team when he wasn't juiced up..

some players who have little ability, need to juice so they can hit a big HR to make up for the fact that they are not very good....that's wrong, but they are sacrificing their lifespan for this ability...

Somewhat agree with you, in the fact that I don't care if these guys destroy their bodies etc. with drugs, but my problem is, if you're going to allow it, it's one thing, but as long as it's against the rules, I don't like to see people get punished for following the rules and not juicing...... if Pedro Martinez takes HGH to rehab his Hammy he pulled yesterday (assuming he will come back from this one) I'd be all for it, but you gotta let everyone use HGH to rehab then...... just my $0.02

Obviously my Pirates could use some 'roids, although they did score 12 runs in their opener.

Personally, I want to see the sport cleaned up, but then again there are an awful lot of issues that need resolved just as much, if not more, than steroids. Case in point, teams like the Pirates being nothing more than a AAAA grab-bag of talent for the rich teams.

You realize the Brewers the past few years has been one of the most profitable teams, and they suck..... You can make a ton of money, and get scrubbs, and make a good profit with a .500 season, or you can spend your whole budget like the Yankees, and if you don't win the Pennant, you're barely scraping by...... My Mets are taking the Red-Sox, Yankees stance on things now, and are buying up talent......

Baseball was in a decline of revenue because of the strike, so MLB and the union turned a blind eye to steroids/HGH because it was helping to bring back interest (money) in the sport.

How come this is so obvious, yet the media never attacks that angle, says a lot about this country and the power of the press...
