Here's a quick update for you Blu-ray fans that should make you happy. We've just gotten confirmation from our sources at Warner Home Video that all three Matrix films WILL be released on Blu-ray later this year, likely to support the theatrical and/or DVD and Blu-ray release of The Wachowski Brothers' new Speed Racer feature film.

Warner has also confirmed to us that all the elements for the Blu-ray Disc release of the 1938 classic The Adventures of Robin Hood (staring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland and Basil Rathbone) have now been completed, so it's likely that the title will street sometime before the end of the year as well.

Just for info, Speed Racer is being released on May 9th, 2008.

This is a title that can be released as a complete set. No way you can just pick up #1 and not watch the other 2 even though I have very little love for the last movie.

Here's what I want to know. Is it going to be the same movies. Wasn't there a rumor when Matrix Reloaded came out on DVD that there was a extended edition? Are there extended editions for all three?

I'm more interested in The Adventures of Robin Hood. I can't wait to own that on Blu-ray. I'll likely get The Matrix as well but i've seen it so many times already.

This is very exciting and great news! Does anyone know if extended versions exist or will exist? Wonder what codec BD will get? Either way...

No Reloaded extended edition,(thank god, long enough already, should actually be shorter), one of the DVD releases collected all the specially shot cut-scene footage from the dire Enter The Matrix game. It was never edited into the movie OR available via seemless branching. Nor should it ever be, I'd have Nam flashbacks if they did.

I realized something. You guys might not find this funny but I was thinking. What are the noobies thinking when they see that we're not bashing this thread. But we all know there's going to be 6 more threads no this.

Either way, we are beginning to get word of the releases we have all been waiting for. Slowly and Finally. I'm very excited for the Matrix on BD. Hope to hear about more great titles coming out soon!

Well maybe there's actually story that would make it better. Just because it's extended doesn't mean that they won't cut a minute here and a minute there that they don't need. I've seen my fair share of Extended and Directors Cuts were there's peices of the movie missing.
