The one thing that truly stands out about this unit to me is that it doesn't have an Ethernet port. Even the first Pioneer Elite had one. That's very disappointing.

I too don't understand why Pioneer dropped the ethernet port. OTOH, internally decoding all audio formats is great. Load times apparently are greatly improved. It looks cosmetically better than my 95FD too. Best of all, it is expected to be cheaper than the 95FD. Can't wait to see this player in person.

Default Dts-hd-ma

Does anyone know of an existing or planned player that will have an onboard DTS-HD-MA decoder so I can use the Multichannel inputs (7.1) on my amp?
Bitstream is great but no if you dont have a decoder!
Wish I was rich!
RX-V757 Yamaha Amp (7.1 analogue)
DMP-BD10 Panasonic Blu-Ray (7.1 analogue)

I have a question.

I currently have a PS3 that I use for my blu-rays.

Is it ever worth switching to a pure blu-ray player? does it provide a better picture? Sound? Upconverting?

I am truly curious and I've always meant to ask but haven't.

In my experience yes, yes and yes. But, it's at a cost. the PS3 is very inexpensive, has very fast load times and very fast BD-J processing, built-in wifi, built in Ethernet, 2.0 now, and pleny of horsepower to spare. PS3 is certainly the best balance of cost to performance. If you can get a 60GB or 80 GB version, add SACD to the mix.

Very interesting looking. I wouldn't mind upgrading my Blu-Ray player, but that is too big for what I'm lookin' for.

Default Pioneer Bdp 05 lossless audio setup

I am having a hard time getting multichannel pcm output from the player. I am getting 2 channel only. I think by using an hdmi cable there is an auto setting as default. In the setup menu it states multichannel may not be specified except when using 7.1 analog outs??: I am running through a Halcro processor with proper set up. Any ideas ????
