BDP-HD1 zoom problem

Has anyone tried to use the zoom function on the BDP-HD1? Mine doesn't seem to work. I called Pioneer and worked with them for awhile. They finally said my machine must be defective and to take it back for replacement or service to repair the problem. I took my machine back to Magnolia for replacement but while I was there, I asked them to check theirs to see if zoom worked. Theirs wouldn't work either. I didn't bother replacing the player. I asked if they could have someone follow up with Pioneer and let me know if there is a problem. My BDP-HD1 had a December build date.
