Default Whoa! Amazon is giving $50 for people who bought HD-DVD players

For those that purchased HD-DVD player before Feb 23 08, you get $50 credit code on a purchase. Expires April 9

Nope not clever at all. It was weird how it turned out for me. I bought the A3 early January thinking that the format war was going to last another good year. Couldn't pass on the good deals at the time. Bought the A3 for $99 + 4 movies instantly and send away for 5 so thats 9 HD-DVD movies. And the choices were damn good compared to the Blu-ray deal. Amazon decided to take their sweet time shipping so I received it late Jan, day before the big Warner announcement. I was ready to ship everything back but my employee wanted to buy a DVD player so I sold it to him at my cost. I even warned him that HD-dvd will be fazed out but all he wanted it for was a good upscaling dvd player and the bonus 9 movies didn't hurt. Couple weeks later Amazon lowers their price of the A3 to $75. I get a $25 credit. Now they give you a $50 coupon. That is crazy. So you get an A3, 9 movies for $25 all in 3.5 months.

I'm sure that "PROMO CODE HERE" is not the actual code. It should be included in the email that you receive.

Its only $50. Its not like they are getting a free player. No reason to be jealous on Blu's parts, and absolutley no reason to gloat on HD DVD buyers parts especially because most of them are buying more HD DVDs

Oh my! Looks like the crybabies are starting to revolt and a mob armed with pitchforks and burning torches are out looking for the Drunken Tivo dude.

and not for the first time since January, either. Thread locked, Tivo dude's protection remains intact.

Yeah, funny how that at one time in the not too distant past, the Drunken Tivo Dude was the Dudster's Messiah and VE was their Mecca. The $50 being dangled under their noses can quickly turn friend into foe it appears.
