Default Was Predator released early?

I was at my Target over the weekend and Predator was on the shelves on Saturday. Was this released early by accident? I knew that the release date was not until Tuesday, but none the less it was there.

I would have been stoked if AVPR was out, but I was never the Predator fan compared to the Alien fan.

like that at my Target ... I do believe though if you try to ring it up and buy it the register prompts saying this cant be sold until that date ... not for sure, but I've heard that.

I did however see Predator and Commando out at my Target (Michigan road, Indy, IN.)

I did not see AVP 2 on the shelf, although I did see a few empty spots waiting to be filled! If AVPR was there, I might have picked it up. But I much rather save the few extra dollars and buy on Amazon Prime.

just like how this one Sears was selling Super Smash Brothers Brawl 1 week early and they got fined but yeah Target can get in trouble also for having employees releasing anything 1 week early

Saw Predator on the shelves of my Target as well. Just couldn't plunk down that kinda cash for it. I'll just wait for it to go on sale next week.

To add to what's already been said, I saw Commando there yesterday. And for $35, hence I didn't take it home with me. Plus I don't really like 1.85:1 with an Mpeg-2 transfer this late in the game.

Mpeg 2 can look just as good as anything else . . . Commando's pretty good for what it is.

Not uncommon to find catalog titles on shelves prior to release date although not all retailers and locations do it obviously.

I think that may be limited to some stores. I've found movies early at Wal Mart and Best Buy and didn't have any trouble buying them.

I've been in Target a few times when items were placed out that shouldn't be, and they would NOT let me have the item. Though I was pissed at the time, they seemed to be doing their jobs pretty well.

These two releases (Commando and Predator) being on shelves really seemed to be a Target then. When owa posted last week they were out, many of us went to Target and got them (different Targets all over the country). It wasn't a simple case of stupid employees I don't think...

I remember Walmart doing that with DvDs a while back. I haven't been there in a while, but I seem to remember buying TMNT way before it hit the shelves at BestBuy.

I worked at Costco in the early 90's and when the Lion King came out on VHS they had just upgraded to a scanning system and a new girl scanned it in a week before delivery and Disney had the store manager on the phone within 2 hours of the item being scanned into the system.

Scary.

Who knows...not our problem.

I like 'em early.

What I actually think happened is that the electronics departments got new planograms that had the wrong effective date on them. I would guess this is the case because I've been to three Targets, all had both titles out early and they were in the same exact place in every store.
