Default News: Gran Turismo desigher talks about possible PC version.

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/04/14/...le-pc-version/

It is possible, I mean, the new online shooter from SOE, The Agency, is being developed on both platforms and somehow, the modders might have a field day, not to mention the costs of developing GT5. I doubt if this is true though, what do any of you think?

Personally, I'd be disappointed if a PC version of GT5 was released. It's always been the one true flagship game for the Playstation platform, and Sony should keep it that way. GT is a proven console seller for any generation.

Give people an option to play it on PC, and you'll give 360 and PC owners the option of not stepping up to PS3. I think making GT a cross platform game would be a bad strategy for Sony.

But shouldn't everyone have the experience of GT besides on PS3. This is great for PC gamers who don't play PS3.

No more than everyone should have the experience of any xbox360 exclusive. If every console delivered the same exact experience, then what would be the point of several manufacturers producing them? We actually want great exclusive titles, because the competition for gamers' dollars yields far better games in general.

^It is, and this won't happen. Not that I think it'd be entirely bad, but I think it would take away from the impact the PS3 version will produce.
I don't have a good enough computer like most other people anyways.

It matters for the PS3's success, that's why. I was talking about it from a business perspective. Console exclusives are going by the way side. The only exclusives a console manufacturer can truly count on over the long haul in its development strategy are the first-party titles it produces itself.

If every console and PC gave the same experience as the PS3, then what would entice someone to buy a PS3, or 360, or Wii for that matter if they could gain the same experience on a system they already had? Sony is in the business of selling consoles, and letting it's prized properties out the door to be played on other consoles would not be a wise move.

It would be just as dumb for Nintendo to release Mario and Co. to other consoles and PC. First party titles are what keeps Nintendo profitable.

GT5 on a PC would require a PC in the $1000+ range. It wouldn't make that much of a dent into the PS3 world. Besides people like myself prefer a console experience on the TV with no installation compatibility issues. I'd rather a PS3 went more pc and than a PC going more console.

I seriously doubt Sony would let their title go to a MS platform. If it was a lesser game, maybe but not a system selling game like this.

What is the one thing the PS3 has been bashed for.....system selling exclusives, which they don't have any (yet). Now I"m to believe they are willing to give up one of their big three system selling games to another platform.........Sony is not that dumb.

This is Sony's own title and it's their top system selling game (not including FF series, MGS series). This is a game that brings in casuals from all over. It forces you to buy the PS3.

You asked why it mattered......with PS3 currently in third place in the console race I would have thought it was obvious. You don't give up your "Halo 3" just to make a quick buck.....you keep it exclusive and force people to buy into your console. That's why Sony owns this developement team.
