I own

Resistance Fall of man---fun off and online..even tho its old alot of people online still.

Motorstorm---both fun off and online..Alot of people still online also

Uncharted---very good graphics and fun to play

Ratchet and clank---very good graphics. And its a game my girl likes to play..I ended up getting hooked on it too.

Games i'm looking forward to...Grand theft auto 4...motorstorm 2...Resistance 2....

Call of duty 4 is fun on and offline too.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how madden 09 comes out.

I dont know what games you have so i just put the ones i have played or will be looking forward too definatley.

If you were to get one game - I'd get Call of Duty 4. I've logged in over 40 hours of that game (total online and off), which is more than just about any other game I've played. The single player is very good, but the online is AMAZING.

Uncharted and Ratchet&Clank are the PS3 exclusives that rock...

Motorstorm is the game I have other people play when they come over...seems to be a crowd pleaser.

If you want a game that plays forever...try Orange Box. It has 5 games on it, and it seemed like the first Half-Life gave me weeks of play. Then I picked up Portal, a great game that is different from anything out there as a puzzle type game, and I'm still playing it.

Best of all - you can find it for $29.99 (when it is on sale).

Resistance - great great shooter. a must play.
Blazing Angels - i love any game centered around dogfighting/aerial combat
Fight Night 3 - greeaaat graphics. not really a MUST play.
Motorstorm - fantastic as far as off road racers go. definitely worth a look
Assassin's Creed - gorgeous game, interesting story with tons of future possibilities
Uncharted - THEE PS3 game of 2007. this is a must purchase.
Need for Speed Prostreet - great racer. probably more for the die hard NFS fan.
Call of Duty 4 - a must own.
NHL 08 - if youre into hockey. this is a definite buy.
Rock Band - speaks for itself.

its rated E 10+ i believe and its good but not for everyone but i know adults that play it all of the time

Depends on what kind of gamer you are...While I'll play Resistance and COD4 all day, I always enjoyed playing games like Crash Bandicoot as well.

Playing Ratchet/Clank is like watching a Pixar cartoon...humor for adults and kids. Plus, I don't feel bad about playing in front of my 3 year old (something I can't do w/ COD:4)...she loves the 'yellow fox' game as she calls it.

Amazing additions:
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, Super Stardust HD (PSN), Folklore, Resistance, Motorstorm

First off, congrats on your PS3 if it's new. EIther way, you are in for a ride.

Mine is not hooked up to the net, so I can offer you a different perspective if you'd like:

Resistance is a great one player game with lots to do.

Lego StarWars is the game you definitely are NOT supposed to like this much, but I guarantee that when you throw that bad oscar in you will not put it down. It's the closest thing to legalized crack that there is.

Heavenly sword is fun and amazing to look at but is very short. The aftertouch screens are worth the price of admission alone. (They let you control projectiles in a first person mode and control them, so you can shoot a dude in his left eye from a thousand yards out...it's awesome.)

Motor Storm has total replay value.

I got pretty bored of Virtua Fighter 5 alone. It's total eye candy though.

Time Crisis 4 looks great and is fun to play but is a pain in the ass to set up.

Oblivion is...well...Oblivion...so....'nuff said.

Dynasty Warriors gundam is fun and looks great but is 5 times more redundant then a normal Dynasty warriors game so I would suggest DYnasty Warriors 6 instead.

The eye of judgement is very VERY fun, but it's a pain in the ass to get cards now. No stroes carry them and the rare ones are getting more expensive. I think it's total BS that they have videogame cards that are increasing in value. They should sell the set and let people have at it/

You have one more week for GTA4 and then this summer, Mercenaries 2 comes out which can only be amazing.

Then...(angels sing...spirits weep) FINAL FANTASY XIII
