Default Land of the Lost Movie

Any of you fans of the old TV show will be happy (or extemely unhappy) to know that Will Ferrell will be starring as Ranger Rick Marshall in the 2009 release of Land of the Lost.

Two questions

1. Who gets to play Cha-Ka?

2. Should we be expecting a Sigmund and the Sea Monsters movie anytime soon?

Does he have to be in everything now? Is it just me or does it seem that the industry is behind the curve regarding what people like? Since people started getting tired of him he's been in more stuff.

Question Mixed feelings

I loved this show when I was a kid ! I bought season one and two on DVD and you can see just how fake and plastic the set they used are. However, this was not prevelent on my mom and dad's 19 inch Zenith TV with the rabbit ear reception. Highly recomend the first two seasons on DVD ! The third season the show was on the way out and got stupid. Well, more stupid than it already was. What about the Sleestaks ? Who will play them ?

Yeah, sorry I didn't post that. I was looking at the model for the heart for Crank 2, and saw that link. I followed it and saw the Sleezak picture. Couldn't believe that they are making it. Oh well. Thanks for postiing the pic.

I get the feeling, since this is Will Ferrell, bad CGI, just for comedic value.

Hahaha, Land of the Lost - used to love it as a kid! Those Sleestaks scared the crap out of me! Had a chance recently to see a clip of that old show, man, it sure was goofy as hell! I don't remember it being that goofy as a kid, lol.

I watched it as a kid but when I revisited it as an 'adult', I couldn't get back into it but I would rent a remake of the show.

Yeah, I did the same, rented it for nostalgia purposes from Netflix, and watched maybe 2 episodes. Extremely painful viewing.

Yes, and Will Ferrell will star as The Flute. The witch can be Cloris Leachman.

All the more proof that Sigmund and the Sea Monsters isn't far behind. What's Johnny Whitaker doing these days?

I really like the movie... I really can't wait to see it. Though I don't want Will to be in it!

I loved the show as a kid. Didn't they try a remake of it in the 80s or 90s?

If they're doing a spoof, that might work (for me, that is), especially since I'm not always fond of traditional remakes. Most of the time they fail to recapture the feel of the original. For example, a TV show that might have been fun/enjoyable for it's campiness is made into a completely different type of show, more serious in nature, with much better special effects but also more like a soap-opera. So different in fact, it should probably be named something else. Won't mention any names though especially since I'm probably the only one that feels that way about it.

Can a Lidsville movie be far behind?? Charles Nelson Reilly was the evil magician in the green makeup, with all the goofy hat characters in the original series.
