Default Best Buy Calibration

Has anyone had Best buy or Circuit City do their television calibration. Are they any good?

yeah i have had BB do my calibration and it was pretty good...make sure you tell them how you are going to be watching your movies in the room the tv is in (pitch black or some lights turned on)...they even write down the settings of the tv in case they ever reset.

Thanks alot...BB seems to have the better price on calibrations in my area and wasnt sure if the quality of there calibration was the reason why.

If you notice the technician going into your service menu and doesnt write anything down...be very concerned. Insist he write things down, or you do it yourself. He may know what he's doing, but that rare chance he isnt thinking straight your TV could be fubar.

Thanks for the tip. I know that this may seem like a newbie question but what exactly should the technician write down when going into my service menu.

Make note of original factory settings.

Depends of what type of tv you have. If you have Plasma or LCD most of these settings can be done by you! Check out the AVS forums. Obviously, if you can afford an ISF calibration then go ahead. Make sure to write down your settings before and after. Then post your results to the AVS forums to share.
