Default Problem with iMac Burned BD-R on PS3

I am using an OWC Mercury Pro 2x Blu-ray Panasonic SW-5582 External Blu-Ray burner with Toast Titanium on an Intel iMac.

I have had no problems with PS3 playback of HD vob files burned to dvd-r's or TDK BD-RE's. The PS3 recognizing the discs as data discs and plays back the files without incident.

Once I confirmed that the files were playable, I went ahead and archived them onto a 25GB TDK BD-R. I put the disc in the PS3 and it thinks about loading it for a few seconds (pulsating circle in the top right) and then just stops. It does not even show that a disc was inserted let alone recognize it as a data disc and allow playback of the files.

The BD-R is recognized just fine by the disc burner and the files play fine on the iMac. Am I missing something? If the PS3 plays the files fine when on DVD or BD-RE why would it not recognize them on a BD-R?

Any insight would be appreciated.
