Default Resident Evil: Apocalypse or Extinction?

I don't think the two sequels come close to beating the original's greatness, but that's just me. It's the only one out of all of them that I find genuinely quite scary, and I find it the most intelligent.

Apocalypse is very underrated, especially with critics, although I can see where they're coming from with it being "silly" and a "Dawn of the Dead rip-off" and all. I bought it because it has fantastic PQ on Blu-ray and because it has one of my favourite songs in the soundtrack ("Halloween II" by Cradle of Filth), and I think it's just a really fun movie if you don't take it too seriously. Also, out of all films, I like Milla the most in this one.

Extinction was completely different in every way. Definitely not what I was expecting. I bought Apocalypse first, then Extinction, and not knowing anything about what order they were released in, I thought Extinction came way before Apocalypse because it's so slower-paced and the special effects aren't as good as Apocalypse's. I found it incredibly boring. It isn't fun, it isn't interesting. Waste of time IMHO.

Yes, the first one is the best one. The others are just fun to watch sometimes. I bought the box set when it was released and had myself an RE marathon.

I was hoping the first would be more like the mansion zombies exc. in the mansion but I thought it was a big let down the second one did a lot better job acting like the game, epps was mad funny, the third was again meh if best all in all worth watching and the $49 or what ever I paid for the set but it was a let down to me

I think they switched styles because the first movie didnt do too well. I would say I liked Apocalypse the most of the 3. Just seeing more of the characters from the game and the added sillyness was nice. Just felt like more fan service.

I like all three but I don't love any of them. I guess I feel that way about a lot of films but that's ok because sometimes I'm wanted to watch something that's not to engrossing and yet fully entertaining.

They're all fun from time to time.

I liked the first one mildly. It was entertaining. I hate hate hate the second one. It was awful and next to Ultraviolet it is the worst money I have ever spent to see a movie in the theatre. (Just realized they are both Jovavich films). Based on the second one I have not been able to bring myself to see the third one.

I actually liked all the RE movies. I hope they make a new one.
The first one seemed more solid tho. As far as the story and the acting.
But i think all the elements were there on all 3. And i always like when a trilogy keeps the same actors in the story. All in all i think the RE blu ray box set is a Great purchase. Looks awesome on my 52 inch LCD. On extinction the scene with the crows circling around looks crazy!!! I watch extinction alot probably because its the newest of the 3. I hope they step it up a little more if they make a 4th installment. But keep those same elements.

I liked the second one the best.

I DID enjoy the 3rd one, but let's be honest...The Road Warrior and Orsen Wells called....they want their movies back.

First one is definitely the best, I think I like Extinction slightly more than Apocalypse but all 3 are good popcorn movies.

IMHO, the second one was a travesty. The 1st and 3rd ones are very enjoyable though.

The first Resident Evil is the best, and when it comes to watching "Apocalypse" and "Extinction", I'd have to say that "Apocalypse" has just a little bit more action than "Extinction", but I like all three movies just the same!

I am a big fan of the series. However, I think that the 2nd movie (Apocalypse) is the weakest link in the chain.

As a HUGE fan of the game series since 1996, I would say the first Resident Evil is the best among the three. It is entertaining and the story, while only loosely based on the series, is not too bad.

That cannot be said for Apocalypse and Extinction. To me, Apocalypse is so bad on many levels... bad directing, bad editing (sequences just don't really flow well together at times, or some scenes could've been saved if put into different sequences), and worst of of, they seem to place those monsters in the movie without a purpose at times, it feels like they are there just for the sake's of putting them in the movie.

I like the series but the 2nd movie ranks below the other two.

Nope, it didn't. I'm pretty sure Extinction had the most nudity - for Milla at least.
