Default Need help picking my first HDTV

I've narrowed it down to three

Panasonic TH-50PZ800U
Pioneer Kuro PDP-5010FD
Mitsubishi LaserVue

Is the LaserVue going to be that badass?
What's the difference between the regular Kuro and the elite one? should I choose one over the other based on the difference?
I've heard Panasonic makes a really good tv, should I go with the 800 or 850 series?

info/suggestions appriciated. My budget could be up to $5,000 including tax and warranty.

thanks!

Go Pioneer, but if you want to save a lot of money for not much of a performance drop off (like me), go Panasonic.

Get the Panasonic. The PQ isn't going to be as good as the Kuro (it will be close though) but you're going to spend ALOT less.

If you're waiting for August, I'd wait to see what is out there, at what price at THAT time.... these prices change like wind!

this is what annoys the hell outta me though. As soon as I have a model and a price in mind I'm sure something better will come along.

it's really intimidating, especially when it'll be my entire summer paycheck in one go.

We aren't really talking about big differences though. I mean, if you buy a 1080p Kuro now there isn't anything in the next couple of years that will be different enough to care.

Hell, you could go cheap and get an LED DLP and be perfectly fine. They look really nice and have none of the wierd "rainbow effect" artifacts of the old ones. Everyone is a Kuro snob (and they are pretty terrific) but they're all 1080p HDTVs.
