Default Samsung HL61A750

Hello everybody. I just got the brand new Samsung HL61A750. It's a DLP with a LED engine so the picture is better than standard DLP's. At Best Buy, it said that this TV can refresh at 120Hz, but i can't find that function anywhere on the TV. Does that mean i'm not looking in the right places, or that Best Buy lied to me. Please Respond

If you want a truly unbelievable deal try Crutchfield. I really was only thinking about buying this TV (I already have the HL67A750 in my basement) and was thinking about replacing my HLN617W, but when I saw this price I just had to get it!

On a technical note - I have the HL67A750 which was shipped to me by Samsung when it first came out and I updated the firmware to the on the Samsung website. I also have the HL61A750 which I just got (manufactured Dec. 2008) the video charastersits of both sets appear similar except

I have identical PS3s (same model run 60gb with PS2 hardware emulation) hooked up to both of these TVs. Using the video tests for "blacker than black" I have to set the PS3 the 67" to "RGB full range (HDMI)" while the 61" set needs to be set to limited range.

This is what the PS3 manual says about this:
-------------------------------------------------
RGB Full Range (HDMI)

Adjust the output settings for TVs that support RGB full range. For RGB video signals, the range of color scale that is input varies depending on the TV in use. This setting is for use when the TV is connected to the PS3™ system using an HDMI cable.

Limited RGB output signal is output in the range from 16 to 235.
Full RGB output signal is output in the range from 0 to 255.

Hints

* If black sometimes appears bright and sometimes appears pale on the screen when [Limited] is selected, set this option to [Full].
* If black appears dull on the screen when [Full] is selected, set this option to [Limited].

--------------------------------------------------

I assume the change in firmware of the Samsung units account for this.
I used the thest patterns on Wall-e and the Star Wars disk along with a special "gray" jpeg test picture to confirm this. The picture quality on both sets are excellent!

I bought that same tv at Conns last weekend for $999.95. That was way to good of a deal to pass up. I'm trying to figure out the setup and get the best picture and I think I might have found it doing a search on here. I asked the salesman about the 120ghz, and he said that it is only 60ghz..who knows

The display is refreshed at 120HZ. From my limited understanding the 60HZ image and double it to 120HZ. It appears Crutchfield ia now sold out, but I got mine from them for $1169 with white glove delivery (I had a 10% off coupon code).

DLP sets uses something called "wobulation"

Basically, the chips can dislay 960x1080 @ 120Hz which will equate to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz to show a full res image.

Get them now while you can...the last of the Samsung RPTVs
