Along the same lines, has anyone heard about when Universal pre-orders are supposed to be popping up? Considering their titles drop in only a couple of months...

Pre-orders are 6 weeks before it comes out, so mid June.

It'll be the same as HD DVD, just change the logos

Thanks Wicky, I never realized there was kind of a standard time-frame for pre-orders (when they become available).

wouldnt be a bad guess. You have to remember though, some titles(sleeping beauty and shawshank) are already up for pre-order and they arent coming until around Sept.

Firefly is from Fox, and it has not been officially announced yet. Nor would I expect it before Sept/Oct. I'm sure they'll do all kinds of official announcing at Comic-Con. Any excuse to get 7000 browncoats in a room to cheer is good pimpage for the set

They are very good

I have all of those except Fast and furious. They all look great. The two big Universals that i didn't get where the Mummy Movies and Ill try those On Blu-ray to see if Universal is changing any of there menues. (that and I only buy Blu-ray now to support the surviving Hdm format Can't let Blu-ray lose to Dvd and downloads)

I kinda like the swooshes. It will be funny to see "the look and sound..." on a blu disc. I will probably have a good laugh when I get their first titles on July 22

I don't know, I loved the fake coverart that was created with the swooshes and I kinda prefer the disney swoosh.

Yea I liked the Disney swoosh as well, to bad they dropped that and went to the metallic shiny cover art

Thats Hd Dvds official slogan. The case will probably say beyond high definition which is one of Blu-rays sogans.

Hahaha. "The Look & Sound of Perfect, Finally *" as the slogan for Universal BDs.

Then you read the footnote * in small print below on the bottom of the packaging:
* No, really, this time we did it. Since we had more GB's and bandwidth, we re-encoded the video to where it actually looks great now, and we included lossless audio. Holy shit, we even had a few GB's left over!!!
