Default Using DVD boxes for BDs?

I own heaps and heaps and heaps of DVDs, some because I enjoyed them, some because I loved them to bits, and some both all of the above and because they have a great DVD cover. Since quite a few Blu-ray covers annoy me - the huge "Maximum High-Def" logo on the front, the back cover being plastered with "high definition" "high definition" "blu-ray!" "high definition!" logos and almost the only thing on the entire back cover that's relevant to the movie is the plot text - If I have both a DVD and a BD of a movie, why not just swap the discs round and use the DVD box as the main storage facility? I mean, I've always preferred the look of the DVD boxes, and I bought the Texas Chain Saw Massacre DVD twice just because the second one had a steel cover.

Anyone else considered this? No thread crapping.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I too am very fond of the DVD amrays, but at the same time I prefer the Blu-Ray case simply for it being Thinner and Smaller thus creating the ability to put more of them in my storage space. In due time, all the "HIGH DEFINITION!!!!" things on the packages will disappear. DVD cases used to be so ugly to me.

I love my Blu-ray cases EXACTLY the way they are. While stored on the shelf, there is no need to worry about all of the "labels" plastered on the cover art. If all of my Blu-rays were displayed with the cover facing out, it might be a different story. As is, 184 Blu-rays mixed in with my 600 DVDs in the exact same cases would not only piss me off when trying to remember which are Blu-ray and which aren't, but it would also take away from the fact that when people come over and see my Blu-ray collection they wouldn't comment on it... or even ASK ABOUT THE FORMAT... OR ASK FOR A DEMONSTRATION! Because of those cases I have been able to enlighten SO MANY people about the benefits of Blu-ray. I RESPECT THE BLU-RAY CASE AS IT IS!!!

I noticed that when I received my import copy of The Island. The case is the same height and width as the US blu cases, but it's spine is nearly as thick as a standard DVD case. It almost sticks out on my shelf. I thought that was odd.
