Default how much of a difference is between upconverted dvd and hd on a 20" tv?

it's for my bedroom tv, the dvd player broke down, so i need a new player
either another dvd player or a blu-ray player
it's just for casual movie watching, hence the small tv in the bedfroom

just wondering how much of a difference?

Depends on how close you are, that is an awful small TV though....

i'd say 6 ft, and yes, it's very small haha, but just enough space for that size in my bedroom without being overwhelming (i live in nyc, everything is cramped, my folks back in canada have closets bigger than my bedroom) haha

Not much different...You probably don't even need an upconvert player...

On a 36 inch full screen set I noticed only a little difference.

So a 20 inch set -- I doubt you would notice.

The only advantage is that if you eventually have mostly Blu-ray movies in your collection, a DVD player won't be able to play them.

My collection for instance has moved from being 100% DVD a year ago to about 85% DVD / 15% Blu-ray this year.
