Default Dislike of the Blu-ray case

Am i the only one who really hates the standard blue Blu-ray case? To me it looks like a cheap console game case and is not nice to display like a simple clear or black DVD case is.

I love it. Looks modern, futuristic - not antiquated like the DVD cases.

Glad to have them look differently, too.

Originally, I would have preferred them to use a black version of the Blu-ray case (with the logo embossed in blue instead of gold), but I like the case itself....

I just think it looks cheap. The rounded edges dont help. It doesnt look modern or smart, which is what hi def is about.

Doesnt look modern? You didn't by any chance just move out of an Amish community, did you?

I can imagine you get great MPG on that thing.

I think it looks very modern myself... but "hi def" is about being modern and smart?

Default blu cases

what difference does it make what the case is like as long as the artwork is good if not original poster art work and movie is hi-def?

I like 'em. The size is great, any smaller and the spines would be too hard to read. The blue color looks good, something a little different from the usual black. I don't know how one would make a case look "smart." Saving space while maintaining storage and visual functionality is smart to me.

No i dont think it looks modern at all. Most peoples living rooms i know of would not suit a long row of cheap looking blue topped plastic cases on display. PS3 cases are the same and the 360 game gases look just as bad. To me the case should be almost invisible, unless a box set perhaps. The artwork is the key, not the case itself

Its a personal taste thing i guess, but my cases will be kept out of sight and since i use an HTPC to play back the discs they may well be ripped to my hard drive anyway.

Hi def is a modern smart thing. The picture is great the sound is great, the TVs look impressive, even when off..but the cases are seriously naff!

Anybody else flashing back to the thread about displaying Blu-rays being a symbol of status?

You can always store them in a CD album. Problem solved.

I like the cases as well I prefer the cases that that the 3d Blu-ray logo rather than just stamped on, the new cases Disney is looking to use looks terrible tho.

Ill probably just get a door fronted unit to store them in. I dont think they are symbol of status, they look like PS3 cases.

I also prefer these cases. I sure hope they don't get like DVD where some are made of cardboard or diffrent colors of cases.

the case looks so good and it doesn't take up nearly as much space as the stupid DVD cases.

I love the blue case, just wish some of the imports would use the same slimline case instead of a slightly thicker one.

I think its the blue. Its what i call 'base model blue'. Almost the same colour as most car makers painted their base model cars in the UK.

Ive seen you can get replacement cases in various colours. I might replace them with black or clear ones

When compared to DVD cases, the BD case is very stylish. In addition, I like the compact size A noticeable improvement over DVD. The European cases are just a little too thick for my liking though.

Love the smaller, thinner BD cases over DVD... Hated the red ant cases... Wish the studios would start producing the booklets again.
