http://tv.ign.com/articles/870/870608p1.html

My favorites are not on there. My favorites are

They are basically dealing with the saem Character Eugene Victor Tooms and are fantastic. What is your favorite(s)?

Home is the one with the inbred family. That episode is intense. I liked the one where the guy had the tail and could change to look like other people. He became Mulder and appeared as Luke Skywalker to a lady.

My favorite is every freakin' one of 'em! For me this was the best show on TV for nine years and I still miss it! I am so looking forward to the new movie...

My favorite, without question, would have to be 'Detour'. It's so hard to pick just one, but that episode has always stuck with me. I'm a big fan of the show, and own all of the seasons on DVD.

Some others up there on my list:

- Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man
- The Calusari
- Revelations
- Mind's Eye
- Unusual Suspects
- Shadows
- Soft Light
- Talitha Cumi

The best stand alone episode ever - HOME.

And every single mythology episode of the first 4 seasons especially those written by Morgan and Wong!

Darkness Falls is a great one. Home is downright creepy. One of my later season favorites is Audrey Pauley where Monica is in a coma and inside a toy model of the hospital she's at.

My wife and I are both HUGE X-Files fans and sometimes, she will just play X-Files DVD's while she works. Can't wait for the new movie.

I love any one of the many episodes where all of the "big wigs" that are keeping the ufo conspiracy under wraps get together. Cancer man and the others. I really liked the one where mulder and scully find the Huge filing system in the mountains with medical records of everyone on earth... i think it was called Paper Clip.

BLACK OIL - I love the fact that they made that a stand alone DVD box set. It was very well done and gave us the espisodes in a sequential easy to follow manner.

I would have to say the one with Seth Green, where Mulder and Scully go to Ellins Air Base. It's hard to pick just one as the whole series was great. I may have to go back and re-watch all the seasons, especially before the second movie comes out.

D.P.O. was another good one, it had a young Jack Black and Giavanni Ribisi in it: the kid who could create lightning. Ribisi was kinda creepy in that one.

"Tales of a Cigarette smoking man" I believe that was the title. It was basically just a flashback of CSM in his youth.

Any episode with CSM or Krychek was pretty fantastic though.

The worst episodes were any episode that lacked Mulder, basically the entire 9th season?

I have a few episodes I love.

First Person Shooter was really fun to watch.

I also loved the one where the deformed girls where being sought after by the demon/devil because they where children of angels.

last but not least the episode where there are strange murders occurring in the Florida town inhabited by former circus performers

Tales of a Cigarette Smoking Man and the Cockroach episode are amongst my favorites.

I never understood the love for Home, IMHO that was one of the worst episodes of the first 5 seasons. I hated it...gratuitous gore with no point nor significant plot detail. "It works as a stand-alone episode" is pretty much akin to "It had no point" in the X-files universe.

Those two were really good episodes as well, and I enjoyed them myself.

If memory serves me right, it was: 'All Souls' and 'Humbug'.

I loved the series, and picking one favourite is a lie. But I'll submit D.P.O. for consideration, mostly for the excellent musical sequence featuring "Ring The Bells" by the excellent bandJames. Besides, the power of lightning is always impressive.
