Yeah, it just hasnt been officially solicited yet. When it is, you'll see it pop up on blu-ray.com. Amazon tends to put up early stuff a lot.

I'm still a fan of the show too, and am REALLY anxious for season 8. I'll be placing that preorder really soon, in hopes that it does turn out to be valid.

Yeah, I think they want to spur as many preorders as possible and having email alerts for when its coming can help foster that interest.

Well, there was speculation about whether there would be an 8th season of Smallville, I think. However, the CW has stated their lineup for 2008-2009, and Smallville and Supernatural are in their regular time slots for Thursday nights. I figured they would continue it, since it is their number one rated show on the network, I think followed by Gossip Girl and then Supernatural.

However, a lot of shows only go 7 seasons, because I think actors get a huge pay raise afterwards, so most shows just end the series. You can look to a lot of shows and see that is the case.

Yeah, the original plan for Smallville was 7 seasons, and most of the actors had only signed on for that long. Season 8 was given a thumbs up since ratings last season and the first half of this one were up.

Unfortunately, some actor's are using this opportunity to take the chance to leave. Lex is gone for good. Lana is gone, but will return for a few (like 2 or 3) guest spots. And now it's looking like Chloe may be falling into the 'a few guest spots' role as well.

Look for season 8 to focus on 'Lois and Clark'

Needless to say, I'm excited.

Lex is gone He is probably the best actor out of the crew. Lana is gone thank God!!! If I wanted to see drama then I would watch a daytime soap. She is been the thorn in the side of this series since the beginning. I would like to see then introduce more superheroes and see a glimse of the Justice League forming. Thanks for the update guys.

Yeah, Lex will probably do some guest appearances, but likely he will be full on bad guy and not be a regular, probably sent to some asylum for evil masterminds. My theory is that Chloe gets killed and that sparks Clark to become a reporter for the Daily Planet. At some point they need to get him in as a reporter there. Jimmy and Lois are back, obviously. Something tells me a recast Perry White will be introduced.

I think the series can start to mature at this point, but I don't see it going for too much longer. I think some of these actors must realize that finding work after this will be difficult for most of them, for example Friends, Seinfeld, 7th Heaven, Dawson's Creek...well, I could go on. The longer they can keep the gravy train going, the better for them.

yeah, as other people have said. but more and more people are becoming uninterested in the eighth season because really the only person who's been on SMALLVILLE for its whole run is Tom (of course) and because even the Creators have decided not to return for the 8th (Miles & Al). but the main reason is Chloe. there are to many Chloe fans that say without her there is no SMALLVILLE and they'll stop watching. which will mean Low ratings and u no what that means. but trust me the 8th season is gunna be awsome. you can read up on it at kryptonsite.com. but since the beggining Chloe either had to die or just leave!!! so whatever happens I know I'm still on board

There was a thread about this yesterday that got MOVED to the "Preorder Watch" thread (why? I have no idea).

Actually, I'd love to see Chloe become the female villain that has been alluded to for upcoming seasons. I read that this new female villain will challenge Clarke in ways that he has never been challenged before. If Lana is going to be out of the picture... who's Clarke going to turn to for his emotional "fixations" if you will? If Chloe were to work from a "friends close, enemies closer" perspective, it could get REALLY interesting to watch!!! Then, that would give a solid reason for her to be killed off. At the end of that season she is dead and Clarke reaches a new low in his life where he comes to realize that nobody can be trusted with his secret. Sets up perfectly for his future as Superman.

lol I've never thought of that. that would be pretty suspensful. but the female villian is going to be one that goes to Smallville on behalf of lex (since Micheal is leaving). but that would still be a twist and is not a bad idea if Chloe were to live. she could exploit Clark or something. then people would love for her to die lol everybody wins. but what's BEST is that Doomsday is coming to Smallville!

Yeah, Bizarro wasn't technically the Bizarro we know and love, so I'm just assuming we'll get something just as different for Doomsday.

I realize they're are still people out there that love this show, but for me, I'm just hanging in for the fact that I still like some of the actors (although, granted a lot of them I like have either left or are about to).
