Default My Top Ten Movies I want to see released on Blu-ray next...

I don't buy a lot of movies, but I would buy all of these!

1. The English Patient (my favorite movie, and neither dvd version has great quality)
2. All of Miyazaki's movies in a huge Blu Box Set!
3. King Kong
4. Minority Report
5. Amelie
6. A Very Long Engagement
7. Magnolia
8. The classic Universal horror movies from the 30's and 40's
9. The Back to the Future trilogy
10. Psycho

What does everyone else want to see released soon?

It's too easy to come up with ten, because what I want are franchises:

Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
Return of the King
Star Wars I
Star Wars II
Star Wars III
Star Wars IV
Star Wars V
Star Wars VI
Peter Jackson's King Kong

If I get all of those, I will be completely content. That's ten of my fourteen favorite movies of all time. (I already have Apocalypto and Blade Runner, the other two are Kill Bill and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly).

More than ten
  1. LOTR films (obvious)
  2. The Shawshank Redemption
  3. Gladiator
  4. Donnie Darko
  5. Saving Private Ryan
  6. Kill Bill film(s) (whatever cut I can get)
  7. Star Wars films (obvious)
  8. Amélie
  9. Fight Club
  10. Moulin Rouge
  11. Indiana Jones films (obvious)
  12. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  13. Godfather films
  14. Matrix films
  15. Futurama films
  16. Apocalypse Now

Futurama wouldn't be so high on my list, but I already have all the others on DVD.

I like the dound of the one I bolded! I also like some of the others... I think it will be a really long time before we get that though. I mean that's like asking for all of the Disney classics (hand-drawn) all remastered beautifully and then packaged in a huge boxset.... major spensive! But totally awesome.

Here are five movies that I would like to see in blu-ray:

1. Plan 9 From Outer Space
2. Gigli
3. Glitter
4. Kazaam
5. Battlefield Earth

If we can get these POS released, then that means we've got all the others.

On a serious note:

The African Queen

It's sad that this movie still isn't available on DVD.

I fully agree with many of these posts. I'm still wondering about TV shows. Will TV shows be the very last to come out? I'd like to see these but sadly, something tells me it'll be YEARS before they get around to doing this:
Anime:
Neon Genesis Evangelion (You MUST see it. Even people who didn't like anime enjoyed it.)
Mezzo Danger Service Agency
Macross: do you remember love?
TV shows:
Mad about you
Friends
The naked truth
Punky Brewster
Dead like me (My favorite TV show)
Veronica Mars
Seinfeld
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (If they don't put this out, they're idiots!)
Music:
U2 rattle & hum
Bananarama greatest hits collection

and SOO many others...

i agree with TV shows but man, i personally don't' see myself doing the upgrade. I have all the friends and i just finished my Seinfeld. I don't see myself making the switch unless it was really worth and than i'd have to find someone that wants the DVD.

I was thinking about this the other day (as I was contemplating whether or not to buy the giant honking series for 80 bucks) and came to the conclusion that, at least for now or even long future, we will not have sitcoms such as friends on blu. Only my opinion but I think the cost of these series (such as the 10 seasoned friends) would be very expensive and I don't think too many people would be double dipping. I have ceased all dvd purchasing for good with movies, even for movies unannounced for blu but my only exception is tv shows (such as the office and seinfeld).

I truly believe that they will release these tv sitcoms on blu ray only when hi definition is household (getting there fast but definitely not the majority yet). Or when DVD becomes secondary for everyone

ya i have to agree with that. New seasons like weeds i can understand why releasing it straight to blu ray but i think it's going to be a while before we see the old series.
