I wanna to know ! Can someone explain this to me. I do not fully understand this. I have a 46" Samsung 1080P LCD HDTV and a PS3 as my Blu-Ray player, and I'm not sure why it is like this. Some movies take up the entire screen and some have the bars on the top and bottom.

aspect ratio.
if the aspect ratio is 2.40:1 like for example in 3:10 to Yuma, there are black bars on the top and bottom, they should only cover about 1/8 of the screen each. movies with a 1.78:1 aspect ratio like Dave Mathews/Tim Reynolds will cover the entire screen. nothing you can do about it unless you zoom but that is we todd did. that's why I love having a 61" screen. It looks amazing either way. |
