Ugggghhh

Just this past weekend my wife told me she wants TOP GUN and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE if and when they ever come out on blu.

I'll buy them for her but I am 100% sure that I will become violently ill if I am ever forced to watch either of those titles with her (or her family).

I don't think any of the hd-dvd re-releases from Paramount are going to have remastering done. The Top Gun transfer was not terrible on hd-dvd, and it did come with lossless sound, so at least it will be released with that much. I am sure that Paramount wants to leave special features for when they do have a remastering done of the film and can go for the double dip.

Alan are you sure? I heard the Audio might change but didn't hear anything about the picture?

What Sky Captain said is correct. Paramount has always optomized their titles for their respective formats. All of Paramount's Blu-ray films have different encodes than their HD DVD counterpart... ALL optomized for Blu-ray.

The audio will most likely NOT be changed...

1.78.1 means anamorphic widescreen presentation

I think he knows that, but the movie should be presented OAR and I thought it was announced with a lossless track.
