Pissing contests

It seems like there's been a tendency lately to post negative remarks just to incite an argument. A couple people in particular come to mind. There's nothing wrong with heated discussion if logic and facts are used to back it up. But why post in a Transformers thread if you couldn't care less? Why post in a thread about gas prices if those threads piss you off? Just skip them, for f***s sakes.

and this thread was posted for exactly this reason? Look at whos enciting it, usually the same person group, ignore it. The Bose one really cracked me up? Dude is arguing over something he egged on then responds with you dont know what you are talking about reponses..........Pointless!
Anyways where do you think this thread will go?

Seriously, this is trolling and you're doing exactly what you're accusing others of doing. If you post a topic, be prepared for people to reply to it- sometimes with opinions you don't like. If you don't like their replies, why not take your own advice and "just skip them, for f***s sakes."

Because the problem then becomes that you have to wade through two pages of people's crap in order to get to the topic of the thread. It's not the thread I'm trying to skip, it's the BS. I'm in no way doing what I'm accusing others of doing because I'm not derailing an existing thread to talk about it.

I've seen a few characters lately do nothing but attempt to instigate others. It's getting quite ridiculous. BLU for Blue comes to mind first, lately. Yes, I said your name. But it's the truth. I'm trying to remember who else - will come back and edit my post once more names come to mind.

I'm not exactly condoning calling people out, but I think there could be a little more done about people posting crap just to start an argument.

No, just because they need to be made aware of it. I mean, I can't go into any thread these days and not see some form of debating. Sure, I like a good bantering, but it's coming to the point where everything is some form of personal attack!

I have to agree. I tend to skip over most of these posts, but it does get annoying when threads are taken off topic (to have an argument). It's fine to disagree (even if its a matter of opinion only). Just keep it civilized. It was the civil tone of this forum that attracted me to it. I hope we keep it that way.

You've been registered here longer, yes. Meaningless and irrelevant. Trolling doesn't mean you're ALWAYS a troll, it means you're looking to rile people up with a post.

Whether it's wading through posts or wading through threads, your complaint is the same as I made and that you take offense to. So which side are you on?

*edit* Also... I think it's pretty shady to call people out by name. How is that productive in any way? If they were in the thread posting it would be different.

Trolling pisses me off too. I'm not a troll. I post threads with topics, explain my opinion, argue with other people (arguing is not the same as insulting, it's discussion), etc. Unless a thread is just absolutely ridiculous, I never bash them.

It annoys me when people create threads, you post in it, then they reply back to you saying you haven't posted the right thing, then argue with you about it. A user already mentioned in this thread springs to mind...

we are not perfect, we all have opinions and men especially will argue over the stupidest things because either they are right or think they are right. Its a forum, the more members we get the worse this will get. This thread amazed me the most, why post something that is opinionated and try to defend it by degrading the respondents , especially when they are mods?
If I post a thread that Chevrolet was the best vehicle built, a Ford buff would definitely respond with his facts otherwise. A good debate ensues, but why get pissed after a while and trash respondents when things are looking good for your argument?(by the way that was an example)

Sheesh! I can't believe I've never read the thread between those two! I mean, I just read through 6 pages, Doby clearly knows his stuff and smacked Woody around like Buzz Lightyear did under the van in Toy Story.
