More than likely it'll try to cover some of the gap between the two films, taking place after Begins but before The Dark Knight.

No the prologue is the opening scene for the Dark Knight followed by various quick trailer like glimpses. They showed it in Imax theatres. I saw the bootleg of it so can't wait to see it in high def.

So not as much a prologue as a preview then?

Even though I pre-ordered the Limited Edition (from the Warner 30% off deal), the only thing Im looking foward to is the moviecash. Ok and the prologue and packaging. A bonus disc full of special feat. and maybe a figurine (of the freaky Scarecrow) would be cool.
