the canadian dollar is stronger and or close to par with the US dollar, yet we get raped almost an extra 25-35% increase on dvds and blu's?
ie cloverfield is 19.99 on .com and 32.99!!!!! on .ca, this is going on with other titles as well. If amazon wanted canadians to shop at the canadian sight, shouldnt they have the same prices as .com? their prices is the reason they are losing shoppers. |

Just order from .com and save yourself a load of money.
Let's help our neighbours to the south by stimulating their economy a bit... because they certainly need it at the moment. Added bonus is that we can get a deal in the process. |

Right now the Ca Dollar is 1:0.998901 with the USD.
It is likely that Amazon is going off of a higher exchange rate, but the highest in the last year is 1:1.02912 Things should be cheeper on the Ca site right now. |

the only problem is sites like amazon apparently use separate suppliers for US and canada, so they charge more for one |

Highest price I've seen on a single disc "non special edition" release was about $42.99 in store and the Amazon.com price for the same title was $27.95... can't remember the title, but I remember the traumatizing price difference.

ONCE AGAIN AMAZON.CA DOESN'T DECIDE ON THE MSRP, If you want to complain do it at the Studios who SET the MSRP for retailer..
Most new release are from 26$ to 31$ ... Catalog are from 18$ to 26$ Rambo is 26$ at Walmart. All Fox titles or most of them (except new ones) are 25$ from HMV and Futureshop (they are 27$ in the US at normal price). Most Lionsgates are cheaper in Canada. It's just that amazon have lots of sales...going on. Paramount and Fox usually cost more here in Canada too... Last edited by ryoohki; 06-03-2008 at 09:25 AM. |
