Default Amazon and MartinLogan

I just saw this on Cnet.com; which is pretty cool

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-99...tfd.blogs.item

I don't have any yet, but I see there are several forum members who might be interested.

I searched, and didn't see this anywhere else. If this is common knowledge, I apologize.

Mark

I've been eyeing the ABYSS and Dynamo subs for over two months now ....

I think they've been selling the for awhile.... not the best price though, if you can find them locally, so I'm waiting for them to hit my gold-box ! !!!

How does one have their Gold Box selections made? Is there something you can do to force something as a favorite?

I've been adding the items to my "wish-list" and pulling them up daily...... of course it hasn't worked... but I hear it works for other people!

Because they have crossovers, just like most other speakers. Some models - Summit/Spire/Vantage/Purity - also have internal amps for the woofer(s), though that's not absolutely required. What model are you considering and what AVR/pre-pro/amp do you plan to use?

I ran a pair of Sequel II's for 19 years with a single amp and I'm running Vantages with one monoblock per speaker now. Bi-amping is not a common configuration with ML's.

Nice choice!

The nice thing about the ML's with bass-amping, like the Purity, is that they don't need as much power to drive since the energy-hungry low-end is taken care of via the speaker's own amp. The Yammy site says that your RX-V663 has 95W per channel, which should drive the Purity's, no problem. Having said this, you'll get better sound with more power (or even a separate amp). Down the road, you might consider a used Sunfire Cinema Grand or some such. They sell on A-gon for $900 if you're patient, and they complement ML's quite well.

What will you use for a center?

Ken
