Hey everyone... whats the best OR just a good recommendation for an HDMI cable for ps3 on 1080p (keeping quality and price value on the forefront) ?

but that was before i discovered monoprice.com

my HD-DVR cable box has a monoprice.com HDMI cable...
no problems...

got to be a monoprice.com cable...

don't get duped into buying an expensive hdmi cable..they are all the same, pay more than $7 for one and you are paying for nothing but the manufacturer name!

i personally went with a 24 guage 6ft HDMI cable from monoprice. The cable is built so well, its almost too thick (thats what she said

) But seriously, its a beasty cable, and for 9 bucks (before shipping) you cant go wrong.

Thanks everyone... monoprice it is ! Im a bit slow on the HDMI knowledge.... and there are tons on the site and not sure what to look for to get 1080p output. Standard HDMI or V1.3 ? Also what does AWP stand for ?

If someone could be so kind to post a direct link to a good cable, I would really appreciate it.

As far as quality it doesn't matter which HDMI cable you use...as long as all the connections are in good shape. As far as price I would go to monoprice.

1.3a is for Deep Color bandwidth.. something we won't see for a little while, but it never hurts to be prepared... since PS3 is HDMI 1.3a anyways.

Just a helpful tip - you may want to look at getting a variety of different colored HDMI cables that way you may save some time when routing around multiple HDMI connections. You may also want to pick up more than one as the shipping cost from Monoprice is a little high. You never know when you may need an extra cable or get a bum one. Also one mistake I made was getting that beast of a HDMI cable with the netting around it as it is not at all flexible and it is also heavy. It could damage the input/output connections on your gear. I think Monoprice also offers a lifetime guarantee on cables.

The best HDMI cable are monster cable because the looks of it has star quality to it. You can pick them up at best buy. It might cost about 100 bucks, but if you want good quality go there.

I think the only reason you would want an expensive, gas-shielded cable like that is if you are running a longer cable near other electronics or EMI devices that may interfere with your signal.
