oh wow! thanks for sharing.

i was really intrested, as is everybody else on these forums, if you though a crappy love movie with matthew mcconghay was worth a purchase, but was just a little too much money.

one of the most informative threads blu-ray.com has ever seen.

Even if I was interested in the film, it doesn't even have lossless audio.

Dolby Digital on a new release? Thanks for nothing WB.

man is Kate Hudson hot though....

she is definately the keeper type.

on a side note...what will this type of movie really gain from offering lossless audio...to a point I think we need to see the forest for the trees...

The type of movie it is has little to do with it. New releases on Blu should have lossless audio.

If WB is going to half ass it, they should just wait until this sort of film gets a bigger audience on Blu and then release it correctly.

I like the subtle audio that is contained in movies now.... the click when a door latch closes..... the scraping/grinding of the graphite tipped pencil over paper..... the rustling of papers on a desk...... all of it.... Lossless audio... even if the movie isn't action packed etc... helps draw you into the film.....

I also of course love to hear depth-charges from U-571 that you can feel in your chest..... but the echo inside the sub is equally captivating to me......

While "Fool's Gold" most likely has "lossy" audio given the rear cover art, until posters/reviewers have the disc in hand, I'm still hoping for "lossless".

As for the reason... well, WB let one incorrect cover go out ("The Perfect Storm").

I know...they have the lossless to the movie available to them anyways...why not put it on, right? I see your point...its just, on a release of this caliber, I don't think I will be missing it.

This one is a no brainer for me...my wife loves Matthew and I love Ms. Hudson, this movie is like a digital aphrodisiac!

True, but The Bucket List is also listed as having DD.

Don't get me wrong, given WB's track record, "Fool's Gold", "The Bucket List", "Batman: Gotham Knight", etc... most likely have (lossy) DD... but after what happened with TPS, I'm going to hope for the best until the worst is confirmed.
