Apparently I'm finding myself in the same situation. At first, I said I'll only replace the top-notch titles on DVD... only to find myself replacing even the mediocre titles.

Go figure. Though I wish they would had re-mastered 'Terminator 2'. The master they used was a bit too soft.

I got rid of most of my DVDs last summer, so I wouldn't have to worry about "replacing" them. I'm just getting a new copy because I realized that I really liked the movie after all.

Got it at Future Shop for $29.99 yesterday. Great picture quality, I'll say. Not the best, but a great one.

I also did a shot-by-shot comparison between the DVD and Blu-Ray edition. I have my Mac hooked up via VGA to the HDTV and the PS3 hooked up via HDMI. I enabled the PIP (Picture in Picture) with the correct ratio... definitely a big difference right there.

Blu-Ray is amazing.

If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to see a the side by side, could you post them on a site? such as http://www.imageshack.us/

AVP will probably be my next BD but I REALLY want the Searchers. New HD Transfer!

Here's some screen captures, I could only do it by using a digital camera. I'll like to be able to capture some screens from the PS3 on my computer but I don't have any device/tool for that at the moment. So I figured I'll be fair to the DVD format by using a digital camera too.

Here's 4 DVD/Blu-Ray comparison images below.

I to have been selling off my dvd's in favor of the Blu. On a large screen you really notice the differemce. I had AVP on dvd, took it along with a few other flicks and came back with the AVP Blu edition. I will however only double dip on my must have movies. I will be first in line for Aliens as well.

Looks like a 4-4.5 title for P/Q...and the audio at 1.5 DTS is fantastic.
