Default There Will Be Blood - Hardcoat Issue

So I put in my copy of TWBB last night and about 25min it froze for about 5 seconds. I was concerned, but I let it slide. About 10 minutes later, same thing.

So I took the disc out, and realized it was quite dirty (which is odd, since its brand new) So I took it out and wiped it down. Then I looked and my cloth had scratched it up. Now ive NEVER managed to scratch my BDs up, even when wiping them on jeans or other non-soft cloths.

On further inspection of the disc, it just didnt look right. Is it possible that this batch of discs didnt get the required hard coat? ANyon else ever have this problem?

Does it still feel slimy on the bottom? Or just like a regular disc?

Never heard of that. Contact the store/studio to get a refund. It could be an isolated incident...

What do you mean it was dirty? Was it smudged or something? Where did you get it from?

Exactly - The hardcoating on BDs leaves the disc feeling different than a CD or DVD. It's got a smoothness to it, almost like satin.

My TWBB disc looks fine - however I have noticed a new type of disc from Lionsgate recently. It is much darker, and it scratches just like a DVD. I've seen this on Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, and American Psycho (presumably a recently replicated one, not an old batch).

It doesnt look/feel like a regular disc. The disc itself even feels flimsy (it bends a lot easier than a regular bluray)

By dirty it looked like there was smudges on it.

It was from HMV. Ill take it back if I can find the receipt.
