Slim Glass TV cabinet but NO shelf depth for Receiver

OK so I can not be the only person in this boat. I have a really cool slim aesthetically pleasing glass shelf case that perfectly matches/fits my TV & the TV sits on. (see attached)

The good thing is that the design is completely open with a ton of room for air and circulation, but the problem is it does not have enough depth clearance because of the two pillars in the back so basically you can't put any kind of half way decent receiver in there. I have an Onkyo 505 right now and its literally hanging over the edge and blatantly sticking out. The only thing I could do is dislodge the glass shelf where it attaches to the back and yank it forward a bit, but then the back of the receiver would be leaning over that portion.

Does anyone have any MacGyver like fixes for this?? Or am I going to have to go out and get another little stand to sit next to the TV and pluck the receiver on top of that?
