Default Taking out & Cleaning large DLP screen - smudges & a unique mark

Well considering that a replacement lenticular screen would run me a small fortune including shipping, I am about to embark on a fun mission.....

I was one of those lucky early adopters who got my 1080i DLP TV too soon and as a result had to battle those really fun smudges that just would keep accumulating and chronically appearing. I realized just how bad it gotten one night when I was watching ICE AGE with all of the white and light blue backgrounds.

What I ended up doing was just yanking both screens out and carefully wiping down the dark one with some solution very similar to what you would clean an LCD with and other sensitive screens along with soft 100% cotton like fabric.

Fortunately I got lucky for once and was able to get rid of all the smudges. But what I missed was something that came with my screen from day one and always annoyed the heck out of me.

Its not a scratch or a smudge; it looks like more of a piece of lint or hair of some sort and from a distance you would think its stuck in between but its really not because I took them apart and thought I rubbed that area down, but its hard to tell just how clean it is until you put it up with the projection light hitting it. But this mark or blemish is seriously annoying me whenever the screen is white because it appears at the top. So what I am going to do is yet again yank everything out and at the very least turn the screen the other way, so this mark or whatever it is is at the bottom, where most of the time it will be dark and actually this is really only a big deal when I am watching something full screen.

So if anyone has pointers on cleaning in general or has been in a similar situation, drop a line. I will update progress at some point.....................
