Anybody know of any plans to release the Phantasm movies anytime soon

i doubt "soon", is a possibility.

Oh my god, I remember watching this movie on VHS as a kid. IT freaked me out.

I would like to see it on Blu-ray also.

I'd like to see Phantasm II myself. Here's hoping Don Coscarelli can pry this title away from Universal the way he did with Phantasm III and give it to Anchor Bay to do. Universal seems to have no interest in doing this title at all.

The Phantasm films are really beautiful films with great cinematography. In high defintion, they should be really good eye candy.

Anchor Bay is releasing Phantasm IV on DVD on August 26 this year(after releasing I & III last year, so they should have some very good hi-def masters). That means they have three of the four movies here in the States, and I don't believe they've announced anything yet for Fall for Blu-ray, and it was around this time last year that they announced they were going Blu exclusive and announced titles, so who knows what they have up their sleeve this year. Hopefully, we'll hear something positive from them really soon.
