Looks cool. Can't wait for these to come out. Ok, now we have The Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor (Soon) and Captain america (Soon). That's all of them, right? Oh, and Ant-Man. Is that all?

How come you appear offline? Anyway, yeah, nothing on Ant-Man yet. And to be honest I'm not really too fond of the idea. I mean, he's not that popular of a superhero anyway lol.

jason, you think Spider-Man will be on the Avengers....I hope so.

Read my last post in the Hulk cameo thread. Looks like Sony's not keen in sharing.

You can go into options to appear off-line. That way nobody can be safe.

Darn, thought you meant those studio logos where they flip through the comic pages, and if you still frame it, it's all comics from the specific hero's book...

Actually, that one's got a.....colorful history:
I remember being at a comic-con appearance once where Stan Lee was gushing over their New World Pictures parent-company making it easier to break into their own films, and talking about all the projects they were going to start developing, after all the money Dolph Lundgren was going to make on his "Punisher"--
A Wolverine origin, leading into an X-men sequel?...Bring it on. A more canon-tied Punisher do-over sequel?...Have to. A Dazzler TV-series?...Ermm, a little time-dated, but it's 1990, can't be choosy...
And then Stan's real enthusiasm, an Ant-Man comedy!--No, not Hank Pym, just a scientist who discovered the gas, and comic wackiness ensues! (I quote: "Imagine a scene where he can't cross the street, and has to hitch a ride on someone's pant cuff!")

The audience's reaction?:
(As the chilly pall set in that he was serious, the reaction soon tactfully divided between those who wanted to shout "...Security??", and those straining not to make the Saturday Night Live joke that's occurring to you now. )

Flash-forward to the 00's, eight years after New World's gone belly-up--
Artisan/Lionsgate buys up all of Stan's old New World brainfarts at a fire sale, and petulantly insists on making them all because they own them, so there, and neener-neener to your old Spiderman!
The Punisher sequel gets made, the Wolverine origin gets a custody settlement, the rest of the projects are killed off by the corrupting influence of Sci-Fi Channel, but what about....YOU know? And we got the bad news--They still want to make the Ant-Man movie.

Flash-forward to the Monday after the cool Iron Man ending:
Marvel now vows that all future solo-hero movies will be made toward the glorious cross-canon cause of an Avengers movie, and say, waaait a minute...Weren't Hank & Janet members of the team?

I hate to say it, but there is a ZERO possibility that Spiderman will be in the Avengers for several reasons: 1) He is not a original Avenger, in the comics it was Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, AntMan/Giant Man, Captain America, and Wasp. The reason Spiderman was not included was because he was a success on his own, and the Avengers were made of the less popular characters and yes Hulk was not popular at that specific time. 2) Spiderman rights are owned by Sony and they wanted him to cameo in Incredible Hulk, but Sony would not let them.

Cap and Wasp were not originals either. Hulk left two issues after cap joined. I would have to research to see when the Wasp joined the team (but it wasn't issue 1).

Spider-man was a founding member of the 'New Avengers' that debuted a few years ago.

What I love about hese logos is that they are all themed simply, but most importantly, similarly. They lend themselves to being just exciting enough to make you smile in anticipation.

Wasn't the Avengers already "formed", but when they found Captain America, they were "solidified", so to speak?
My brother was saying that Marvel recently re-upped Sony's rights to Spider-Man. Why? They've proven they could do as good, if not better, with their characters. The only thing I can figure is they signed a much better deal with royalty payments, and will use all "other" movies to help finance the Avengers' characters movies.

This is going to be one expensive movie. But AWESOME!!! I hope they can make it, the salaries alone would make it one of the most expensive movies ever.

Sony can keep Spider-man as long as they want. Marvel can make them an offer, but as long as it's successful, Sony will keep re-uping their deal.

I thought the ball was in Marvels' court as to that, since it's a Marvel character and Sony wants to make the money off of it. I don't really care. I've enjoyed the Spider-Man films so far (would be much better under Marvels' roof), but I think Marvel themselves need to re-do Daredevil, Fantastic Four, and possibly Elektra. Wouldn't mind a decent Moon Knight project, either. My avatar thinks I'm a fan.
