Reason I ask is that the receiver I am purchasing only supports "night mode" for PCM @96kHz or lower. I'd also like to know if any BDs are out there (or will be) that include Dolby True HD @ >96kHz (for the same reason, but the PCM question is more important for me as I don't have a Dolby True HD bitstreaming player).

I wish the PS3 supported night mode (AFAIK it doesn't ... someone please correct me if I'm wrong) so I don't have to rely on my receiver ... maybe it will be added to the PS3 with a firmware update.

(profile 3.0 I don't care about at the moment as that's a non-motion picture format)

A 96kHz will double the bitrate of a 24-bit PCM track from 6.9Mbps to a whopping 13.8Mbps, which takes away a LOT of bandwidth from the video, not to mention takes up a LOT of space as well.

For concert blurays, I see this as being possible where video quality is secondary to audio quality.
